What we do with your details when you ask us about your garage. It is short, because we collect very little and do almost nothing with it.

Garage Conversions Solihull is a trading name of FIXR SYSTEMS LIMITED, registered in England and Wales, company number 15889598. Our company details are at the foot of our terms.

What we collect, and when

Only what you type into a quote form, and only when you send it: your name, email address, phone number and postcode, and what you would like the garage to become.

With it, the form sends which page you sent it from, the first page you arrived on, and which search engine or website sent you to us, if your browser passes that on. It is held in the page while you browse and is not stored on your device.

That is the whole list. There is no account to create and nothing is collected in the background.

We use it to answer you and to price the work, and for nothing else. You are not added to a mailing list, and your details are never sold or rented.

Who sees it

The owner of the business, and the builder who will visit you and price the work. We pass your enquiry to them so they can contact you. We do not pass it to anyone else.

A few suppliers handle it on the way, each on our instructions only and none for their own purposes:

  • Resend delivers your enquiry to us as an email.
  • Telegram carries a copy as an alert to the owner's phone, so an enquiry is not missed. It is sent through our own small notification service, hosted by Vercel.
  • Cloudflare hosts this website, runs the form and keeps a copy of your enquiry in our enquiry records, so it cannot be lost if an email goes astray.

Cookies, and why there are none

This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. That is why you have not been asked to accept anything.

We count visits so we know which pages are useful. Two services do that, both set to work without cookies: Google Analytics, which we run with consent set to denied so it stores nothing in your browser, and Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies. They tell us which pages were viewed and roughly where visitors are, not who you are. No advertising pixels, and nothing that follows you between sites.

We also run our own simple visit counter. While a page is open it notes how long it was on screen, how far down it was scrolled, which links and buttons were clicked and how far an enquiry form got (never what you typed). It stores nothing on your device. Our server turns your internet address and browser into a visit code with a secret that changes every day and is then deleted, so the code cannot be traced back to you or linked to another day, and your internet address is not kept. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, it does not run.

The map of the areas we cover is drawn with map pictures from OpenStreetMap. To send them, OpenStreetMap sees the internet address your device connects from, as any website does. We do not get that information from them.

If any of this ever changes so that something is stored on your device, you will be asked first and this page will say so.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not become a job, we keep it for 12 months and then delete it, in case you come back to it.

If it does become a job, the records are kept for six years, which is the period business records have to be kept, so anything that comes up about the work can be dealt with.

What you can ask us to do

These are your rights under UK data protection law. Using them costs nothing and we will not ask why.

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or tell us to stop using it. Email enquiries@garageconversionssolihull.com and we will deal with it within a month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, and you do not have to come to us first.
